It was an unexpected defeat for actress Ramya from just announced Lok Sabha Elections from Mandya. She was defeated by JDS party candidate Puttaraju by a slender margin. Actress Ramya shocked and in dismay decided to come back to films and be very choosy she says.

In a close defeat the Janata Dal Secular Party candidate Puttaraju was ousted by Ramya in the last by election by over 55000 votes and this time Ramya got defeated by over 30000 votes.

It was an utter defeat for Geetha Shivarajakumar from Shimoga LS seat. She was placed in the third place, Dr B S Yediyurappa won by a huge margin defeating all his rivals.

In Bijapur it was an expected defeat for IAS retired K Shivaramu, Kannada actor and producer. He was not hopeful of his winning from JDS party ticket he got at the last minute.
